making the most
of recess:
learning through play.
two experiences for sesi school: hockey for recess competition and a game that introduces programming logic.

the mission
a new sesi school wanted digital experiences for its recreation room. with the senai team, I helped create two games: one focused on competition and another introducing programming logic.
how to play
hockey runs on a tv used as a table, with quick matches for recess. in the logic game, players arrange commands and watch them execute, connecting instructions with in-game actions.
01
one game, different surfaces.
the surface changes how the puck and paddles behave.
ice: more speed and sliding.
grass: a slower pace.
wood: speed with less sliding.
behind the play
two intentions,
two ways to play.
in hockey, immediate responses sustain competition while surfaces change the pace. in the logic game, commands and execution make the relationship between instructions and results visible. each uses interaction for a different purpose.
02
program, run, discover.
a command interface brings programming logic into play.
programming logic: commands, scene, and execution.
what this experience taught me
the games brought competition and learning into the school’s recreation room. the project combines two approaches to game design: varying challenges through physics and turning programming concepts into visible actions.
